• H.E. Tariq Hilal Lootah: This innovative initiative bolsters the Ministry’s efforts and amplifies them to reach a larger segment of UAE society.
Abu Dhabi, April 11, 2018 – The Ministry of State for Federal National Council (FNC) Affairs is organising a series of lectures across Abu Dhabi to spread awareness around parliamentary procedures. Formulated to promote political participation in the emirate, there are plans to take the series nation-wide.
Held in collaboration with the Majalis Affairs office at Crown Prince Court, the initiative hosts high-profile experts in a series of lectures to implement the Ministry’s vision and build long-term national partnerships. The objective is to reach all segments of society and introduce them to the Political Empowerment Programme, launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in his address to mark the country’s 34th National Day in 2005.
The topics of discussion include an overview of the Federal National Council, its role, achievements and tasks, in addition to the culture of political participation in the UAE, the country’s parliamentary experience, and the FNC election successes over the three previous rounds.
His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary at the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs, applauded the initiative for its role in establishing a cohesive society with a sense of belonging and loyalty to the country and its leadership.
“The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs is committed to spreading political awareness in the UAE,” H.E. Lootah said. “This collaboration with the Majalis Affairs office at the Court of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is a tremendous addition to the Ministry’s efforts in that regard.”
“This innovative initiative bolsters the Ministry’s efforts and amplifies them to reach a larger segment of UAE society, in order to further promote political participation and underline its critical role in maintaining the country’s progress and success across all sectors,” H.E. concluded.
